I lay back in my big desk chair and look away from the computer screen and let my mind wander where ever it wants to. There is always the one thought, the scene, that fights its way to the front & pushes itself forward in front of all the rest. That is the one that sticks and I am compelled to fill in that blank page.

Stick my pencil in my mouth, write some sort of title or topic at the very top of that blank page, then write, erase, write, scribble, doodle. The real writing usually begins on the third try. Wish I could compose at the laptop. I just can't. Tried it many times. a
