What I'm Doing These Days

I've been so consumed with preparation for this Saturday's BWG meeting, that I haven't given any thought to blogging. Guess that really means I haven't had anything to say. Wrong!

I've finished Chapter One of a new novel and I'm so excited about it. I'm moving on to chapter Two. I have 100 rough pages and probably should go forward with the last 100, but you know me... gotta stop and revise before I can move on. My downfall.

I've got several really good interviews lined up. Louisiana authors are everywhere and I enjoy meeting them.

I can drive through town and point to places on my right and my left, and honestly say, "My daughter's resume is there, and there, and there, and there." Hopefully, someone will hire her soon. Please?

American Idol is back and I'm excited. Look at the hopefuls here. I thought I might have to forego this year if 'Bikini Girl' moved on to the next level. Whew! That was close.

I've written three poems, and received an encouraging rejection on one of them. I've submitted a memoir-type story to the Narrative Magazine contest. This periodical is so good. Check it out.

Oh yeah, I'm back to my roots and feelin' like a writer again. That happens when I follow my instinct and not the crowd.

Tell me what you're doing these days.

100 pages - wow!

Keep writing.

That's terrific! And I can't wait to read your Louisiana Saturday Night interviews. They're always interesting and introduce me to an author I wouldn't know about otherwise.

You go, girl!

It's good to know you're swinging somewhere . . . even if it's hard at work, behind the scenes.

What I'm up to is getting married and moving to Mississippi! Not much writing going on with me I'm afraid. My last day of work is May 1, and then I become a stay-at-home wife! This is what I have always longed and prayed for. Getting into a new routine that includes writing at my peak hours is such a thrilled thought.

I'm wallowing, in self-pity, denial, and all that other I decided I had to give up writing (not the first draft stuff but the revising and critiquing and submitting portion of the writing life) until this semester was over. That decision sure sucked and I wrecked my car the next day - what do you call that. (stupid signs) anyway. My cars in the shop. I wrote three paragraphs to a new story and i've been catching up on the pleasure reading that I put off when in school and never got around to this christmas break. Missing my BWG friends though.

And when do you have all this time to it during the time you're on FB? :>) "Lost" your disappeared from my blog??? Then a little bell tinkled in my brain...ding, ding, dummy, she told you in an e-mail that she changed her address. Have turned into the cat in the hat on aging. "I cannot see, I cannot pee...etc."
